Bathroom remodeling
The Part of a Bathroom That Matters Most Is the Part You Never See.
Waterproofing, drainage, and what sits behind the tile decide whether a bathroom lasts twenty years or five. We build that part right, and the vanity comes out of our own Wichita shop.
The difference
Anyone can set tile. Fewer build what goes behind it.
A bathroom is the most punishing room in a house. It gets soaked daily, it is small enough that every mistake is visible, and the failures that matter happen out of sight, in the waterproofing and the drainage, years after the crew has gone. That is why bathrooms are where corner-cutting shows up worst, and why it takes so long to find out.
We build the hidden half properly, then finish the visible half to match. The vanity and storage come out of our own Wichita millwork shop, built to the real dimensions of your room rather than to the nearest stock size, which in a small bathroom is the difference between usable storage and a cabinet you resent.
Everything else runs under the same contract: demo, plumbing and electrical coordination, tile, glass, fixtures, and paint. If the project extends past the bathroom, our remodeling team handles kitchens and whole-home work the same way.

Why JAKS
What you get under one contract.
Vanities built in our own shop
Bathrooms are full of awkward dimensions. A vanity built to your wall uses the space a stock cabinet wastes, and matching the rest of your home is a choice rather than a compromise.
Waterproofing you cannot see later
The difference between a shower that lasts twenty years and one that fails in five is entirely behind the tile. That is where we spend the care, because it is the part you can never inspect afterward.
One contractor, whole room
Demo, plumbing, electrical, tile, cabinetry, and finish under one contract. You never coordinate trades or referee between them.
Permits and inspections handled
Moving plumbing or adding circuits needs a permit in Wichita. We pull it and schedule the inspections rather than hoping nobody asks.
How it works
From walk-through to finished bathroom.
- 01
Walk-through and free estimate
We look at the room, the plumbing you have, and what is behind the walls where we can, then give you a written estimate with real numbers.
- 02
Design and selections
Layout, vanity design from our own shop, tile, fixtures, and lighting. You approve the plan and the price before demo.
- 03
Vanity and cabinetry build
Your vanity and storage are built in our Wichita shop while permits and site prep move, so the long-lead item is not a supplier queue.
- 04
Demo and rough-in
We protect the rest of the house, demo, and rough in plumbing and electrical changes, with MABCD inspections scheduled where the work needs them.
- 05
Tile, fixtures, and finish
Waterproofing done properly, tile set straight, fixtures hung level, and the punch list closed before we call it finished.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Wichita?
It depends on the size of the room, whether the plumbing moves, and the finishes you pick. Moving a toilet or shower drain costs far more than keeping the existing layout, and that single decision often swings the budget more than tile choice does. We walk the room and give you a written, itemized estimate for free.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A straightforward bathroom is usually a few weeks from demo to finish. Tile work, waterproofing cure times, and inspection scheduling set the pace more than anything else. You get a written schedule with your estimate so you know when you lose the room and when you get it back.
Do I need a permit to remodel a bathroom in Wichita?
If you move plumbing, add or relocate electrical, or change structure, yes, through MABCD. A cosmetic refresh that keeps every fixture where it is usually does not. We make that call correctly and pull what is required, because unpermitted plumbing work surfaces later when you sell.
Can you make a small bathroom feel bigger without moving walls?
Often, yes. A vanity built to the actual wall dimension instead of a stock size, a shower curb and glass instead of a tub surround, and better lighting change how a small room reads without touching structure. We will tell you honestly when the layout is the real problem and moving a wall is the only real fix.
Do you build the vanity, or order it?
We build it, in our own Wichita millwork shop. That means exact dimensions, real wood where you want it, storage designed around what you actually keep in there, and a finish that can match the rest of your house.
Can you do a bathroom and a kitchen at the same time?
Yes, and it is often more efficient than doing them separately, since the trades and the cabinetry run together. Ask about it when we walk the house; the schedule and the price usually favor combining them.
