JAKS Construction
A whole-home remodel completed by JAKS Construction in the Wichita area

Park City, Kansas

Park City Runs Its Own Permit Desk. We Know It.

Park City is in Sedgwick County but handles its own building department rather than contracting to the county. Remodeling, additions, roofing, and cabinetry from our own shop.

How Park City works

A Sedgwick County address that does not use the county permit desk.

Park City sits inside Sedgwick County, but unlike Goddard, Maize, or Valley Center it does not contract its building services to the county MABCD office. Park City runs its own building department, alongside Bel Aire, Derby, and Kechi.

That catches contractors out. A crew that works Wichita all week assumes the county desk covers Park City too, submits to the wrong office, and the schedule slips before anyone notices. We hold licenses across the metro jurisdictions rather than Wichita alone, so we submit to Park City directly and build the review window into your schedule from the start.

Most of what we do in Park City is work on established homes: kitchens and baths that have aged out, additions for growing families, and roofs after the storms that come through every spring.

What we build here

Our Park City work.

  • Kitchen and bath remodeling

Park City has a solid stock of mid-century and 1980s homes, and their kitchens are usually the room that has not kept up.

  • Roofing and storm restoration

North Sedgwick County takes its share of hail. We document the damage, meet your adjuster, and replace the roof to a standard that holds.

  • Home additions

Room additions and garage expansions, permitted through the Park City building department and inspected on their schedule.

  • Custom millwork and cabinetry

Cabinets, vanities, and built-ins from our own Wichita shop, measured to your walls rather than ordered to catalog sizes.

  • Commercial construction

Build-outs and renovations for Park City businesses along the I-135 corridor.

Park City Questions We Get Asked

Who issues building permits in Park City?

The City of Park City runs its own building department. It does not contract permits and inspections to the county MABCD office the way Goddard, Maize, and Valley Center do, even though Park City is inside Sedgwick County. Permits and inspections go through the city directly.

Are you licensed to build in Park City?

Yes. We hold contractor licenses across the Wichita metro jurisdictions rather than the county office alone, so we pull Park City permits ourselves instead of working under another contractor or scrambling for a license after the contract is signed.

Why does the jurisdiction matter for my project?

Because submitting to the wrong desk costs weeks, and because review and inspection timing has to be built into the schedule before demolition rather than discovered after. A contractor who has only ever worked Wichita proper often learns this on your project instead of before it.

How far is Park City from your shop?

Our shop is on East Kellogg in Wichita, a straight run south of Park City. Being close is what lets us be on site the same day when something needs a decision, and it keeps our cabinetry moving from our floor to your house directly.

Do you handle storm damage claims in Park City?

Regularly. We document the damage thoroughly, meet your adjuster on site, and make sure the claim scope reflects what the roof actually needs. You make the decisions; we make sure you are not settling for less than the damage justifies.
